25....Sigh

Well, I am officially in my mid twenties. Yesterday was my 25th birthday and I celebrated getting older by going to Disneyland. It was a wonderful day. I just love, love Disneyland. My friend got us very hard to get reservations at Club 33 , a very private, member only, 5 star restaurant in Disneyland. It was one of my best meals ever (well except for some of mom's). We went on all the good rides and had an amazing day. Did I mention my great friend from elementary school drove down from Washington yesterday to spend my birthday with me and my other great friend from middle school called me all the way from London and my other great friend from high school took me to dinner and had a party for me on Saturday, I have great friends. Thanks for all the phone calls from everyone wishing me Happy Birthday. I was surprised at how many people actually took the time to call me and actually remembered.

Getting older is really weird. I know 25 is still considered young by most but it is still a strange age. The good thing is, Jon will always be older :)

Three Years!

Jon and I have been married three years today. Happy Anniversary to us! I just love being married. Life is such a fun adventure but it is even greater to have your best friend to share it with. As the years go by, our love just continues grows. We have lived in 4 states in the three years we have been married and have had many fun times in our journey. At our wedding our pastor said to remember three things: 1. Friendship 2. Fun and 3. Forgiveness. That really was great advice because it is so true. Thanks Jon for being you! I can't wait to see what the next three years have in store.

Pictures from the Lost Finale

Here are some pictures from last nights show. Lost is all done until next Fall. Jon was in it a ton doubling Desmond and I was in it once doubling Kate when she got hit with the tazer and was carried by Jack and then dropped. It was great working on this season of Lost. I can't wait to start working on next season.

Screen Credit

When we were watching Lost last night we saw our names quickly on the credits at the end of the show. We both looked at each other with a confused look on our faces. First off, stunt men don't get screen credit on TV and even if they decided to just add our names for fun (which they would never do), we weren't in this episode. This morning when I woke up I watched the show on the Lost website and noticed we got screen credit for Production Staff. I think that is so funny because I have never worked in the production office. Perhaps they are giving us credit because we (Jon, myself and Mike Trisler) are the three main stunt people on the show and double most of the characters. Who knows but it is funny.(The other names are: four hair and make up people, one camera guy and one other stunt guy.)

Two Suit Cases

We are safe in LA now. We flew in last night and met with some friends for dinner. Jon and I are a bit in culture shock. We have been in Hawaii for 9 months and aren't use to the fast paced life of LA. I feel like I am surrounded by cement and everyone seems to be in a hurry. There is always traffic and going anywhere takes forever.

There was a point yesterday when Jon and I didn't have any keys to anything. No house keys (because we didn't have a house) and no car keys. It was weird because there aren't many times that happens in ones life. I remember 6 years ago when I left Washington with only two suite cases and moved across the country to live with strangers somewhere in a place where I had never been before in a culture I had never experinced before. I had no idea what adventures where in store for me. It felt very familiar yesterday except the differernce this time is I have someone to experience it with. That is one of the great things about being married. I get to do life with my best friend. It makes everything that much more exciting. I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for us!

Head Shots

I got my head shots done a while ago but Jon needed to get his done before we left for LA. One of our friends (he did hair and make-up on Lost) set us up with a photographer on the island whose resume includes Playboy and Surfer. I decided to have some pictures take also. Here are some of our favorites. If you click on the picture you can view it larger.

Fun Times at Sunset

Last week we spent a few days at our friends beach house while we were filming in the North Shore because it is a closer drive to work. His house is on (I mean really on) the famous Sunset Beach. When we were not working we got some time to enjoy his awesome house (he usually rents the house for 5 grand a week but it wasn't rented last week so we got to stay for free!)

In the one pictures is a beached Seal (no she is not dead). She beaches her self every night for about an hour or so then goes back in the water. If you look close you can see Jon's feet in his flippers as he goes down in the water while he is spear fishing. Our friend was teaching Jon how to spear fish.

The Wrap Party

We had the wrap party for Lost on Sunday even though we weren't quite finished filming yet. It was a very fun party. There was two open bars and lots of good food. They had a band set up for the first part of the party and a great DJ for the second part (he played Madonna Like a Virgin and Funky Cole Medena, two of my favorite 80s songs). At the end of the party they had a bloopers video of the second season that was funny. It was a great way to end out the season of Lost.

On Tuesday we are headed to LA. We are tying up the lose ends here in Hawaii this week before we leave. The good thing is we know we will be back in no time. Jon and I aren't on Lost until the finale in two weeks. I have tons of pictures from filming the finale I will post after the show airs.

I'll Miss Michelle

As you should all know (stop reading now if you haven't seen last weeks Lost) Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) was killed off the show on Wednesday's episode of Lost. I have been Michelle's stunt double all year on the show and have loved every minute of it. She was great to work with. Every time I saw her she made sure to give me a big hug and after my stunts she always told me that I did a great job. As a stunt girl you can't ask for anything else out of your actresses. She is super fun and friendly to everyone on set and I know that she will be missed by all. I am sure we will hang out in LA.

Before she left Hawaii some of the crew threw her a going away party. It was invite only and Jon and I got to go. It was great fun. Everyone we worked with showed up to show their support for her. There was an open bar and lots of food. It was a great time.

Here are some pictures taken the day we filmed the scene when I got hit in the face with the bowl (last weeks episode) and the only day all year that Jon and I got to do stunts together. Although they ended up not using Jon in the scene. This is also the last day I did any stunt for Michelle on Lost.

Did you see me on the show last night?

What a doozy of a show last night, huh? I was in the show last night doubling Ana Lucia when she got hit in the face with the fruit bowl by Henry Gale and then got strangled and thrown around. That darn brake away bowl is what cut my face. We use a special kind of porcelain plate so that it shatters when it hits me. The first two takes we (the actor who plays Henry and I) did it great. We were supposed to have the bowl hit me in my hair line so it wouldn't cut me, well on take three (the last take) the plate accidentally hit my face straight on. It was a really fun scene to work on. Michael Emerson (the actor who plays Henry who Jon doubles) is such a great actor so when he was strangling me and looking at me with those intense eyes, it wasn't hard to act scared and struggle.

I also worked on the day when Sawyer and Ana Lucia had their fight that turned into a love scene but the actors ended up doing it them self. I am glad they didn't use me it would have been really weird to do. :) Incase you couldn't tell when it was me here are two pictures from the show last night that is me.

Watch Lost on the Internet

I just watched last weeks Lost on the internet. Apparently this is a new service ABC is offering on some of their shows (they do this also for, Desperate Housewife's, Alias and Commander and Chief). The day after the show airs they are offering the show on the internet to watch...for free (they have been offering the show for $2 on iTunes for a while) , however you are forced to sit through a few sponsor spots (only three). This is super cool. Now you have no excuse not to watch Jon and I get beat up. I wonder if I will get paid extra for this (spoken like a true business woman, huh)?

What I've Learned in Hawaii

As I get ready to move to LA I am amazed at all the things I have learned while living in Hawaii.

The top 10 things I have learned while living in Hawaii:

10. Pigeon is not just a bird
9. If you park your car on Makaha Beach it will be broken into, even if there is a cop 20 feet away
8. If you lie and tell the locals that you are tourist they are a lot nicer to you
7. Avoid Kava unless you enjoy vomiting
6. If you go to a local function (like a baby luau or a funeral) eat before you go unless you like raw fish and poi
5. After the rain there is always a rainbow, always
4. Pineapples don't grown on tress (I really thought they did :)
3. It is not called boogie boarding it is called body boarding
2. There are no pumpkin latte's in Hawaii
1. Pu Pu isn't something you do on the toilet, it is something you eat before a meal a.k.a. appetizer
