Viva Los Angeles

We are headed to Los Angeles on Tuesday for two weeks of training and networking with other stunt guys. We have set up lunches with some of my dad's friends who are stunt coordinator's in the business, parties with stunt guys, training (air rams which shoot you in the air, trampolines, high falls...), and lots more. We are also meeting up with some friends and family. It just so happens that my auntie and uncle with be at Disneyland the same time we are in LA so we will do Disneyland with them, which I just love.

I guess it is back to living out of our suit cases again and living on our friends floors. Oh the things we do to follow our dreams. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Doubling Another!

As the day unfolded yesterday it ended up that I will be doubling the character Claire for the next two days. The funny part is I will be wearing a blonde wig. However, during my wardrobe fitting and wig fitting yesterday I tried on the blonde wig and the color of the wig looks so funny on me. I feel like Mea West. It is fun to get dressed up in wigs, all be it they are uncomfortable.

I woke up this morning and it is raining today. So it looks like it will be a muddy day at work. I am excited to be doubling a new character. I just love my job. I can't say what I will be doing but I will be sure to post pictures after the episode airs in a few weeks. Stay tuned...

Moved In

We are finally all moved in to our new place. It is great. I must say it is a little hard living on the 23rd floor. Our couch is right next to the floor to ceiling window and it is a little hairy sitting on the couch looking down 23 stories. However, we live in such a happening area. We went out on Saturday night to check out our new neighborhood and there was so much going on. We had a nice time just getting acquainted with our new hood. We have all the essentials close by, a convenient store, Coach, a gay bar and a strip club all with in two blocks of where we live. It is always interesting.

On Saturday we went to the Hula Bowl (the equivalent of the Pro Bowl for College Football) here in Hawaii. It was great fun. We had great seats. We are trying to take advantage of living in Hawaii and doing all the islands have to offer.

On a side note, Jon will be on Lost on Wednesday night so be sure to look for him.

We Won Best Drama!

How good was Lost tonight? Every time I read a script I just love it. It is even better to watch. I guess that is why we won Best Drama at the Golden Globes on Monday. We really do have an awesome group of people who work on the show both on camera and behind the camera. I feel honored to work on such a great show. My only concern is where do I go from here?

We finally have a place live! We have a great place in Downtown Waikiki. It is awesome. We move in on Friday. I can't wait to not be living out of a suite case and on friends floors or hotel rooms. We will be able to walk two blocks to the beach and surf or boogie board when ever we want. I can't wait.

We had some friends visiting us the past couple of days. It has been fun to have company. We did some of the tourist stuff that we haven't had a chance to do. We went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, the Dole plantation, watched the surfers on the giant waves in the North Shore, and lots more. (Picture: I couldn't resist putting on the ridiculous picture we took at the Dole Plantation. From left to right: Jon, Me, Sarah and Eric)

Homeless in Honolulu

The few days before I left Hawaii for Christmas vacation, our landlord on Ohau asked us to move out because her son had been badly injured and he desperately needed a place close to home to stay. After much negotiation (and all of Decembers rent back) we agreed which left us homeless in Ohau. We still have our place in Kona but when we are working in Ohau we don't have a place to live. We have spent the past week looking for something and are having such a tough time. The renters market just stinks over here. We have a few leads (as of this morning) and are hoping we can having something soon. In the mean time we are living in Hotels and on our friends floor.

Did you manage to watch the recap episode of Lost on Wednesday. Both Jon and I were in it a few times which means, yes we get paid again for the stunts. Yeah! I just love getting paid and not having to work. (Picture: This is a veiw when I was writting on my blog, from one of our friends house where we have been sleeping on the floor. Not a bad place to stay.)

Lost Recap

I met a lot of people over the holiday break who either have never scene Lost or tried watching the show but where so confused they stopped watching. Well, this Wednesday is your chance to get caught up. There will be an hour recap show explaining what the heck is going on at 8/7c tomorrow night just before the all new episode. So if you don't watch Lost now is your chance to get caught up and hooked. That way when Jon and I are in the show you can follow what we are doing better.

Back Home

We arrived safely back home today. I must say it is nice to be back in Hawaii. I missed the weather and the sun shine. I am looking forward to laying on the beach tomorrow. We start back to work next week (everyone else started this week) which I am actually looking forward to. It has been fun to visit family but I am ready to get back to work.

Everyone who works on the show Lost got killer watches from the producers of the show thanking the cast and crew for a great job (ie a holiday present). It is a super nice watch that says Lost on it. It is a great gift. Thank guys!

Different Cultures

Traveling the past three weeks around the country I am reminded how different each part of the country is. Not that one is any better than another, they all have their goods and bads. I think Sean Johnson said it well in his post comparing the busy life of Manhattan to more simple Colorado.

I am looking forward to going home to Hawaii on Thursday. I miss the warm weather and the sun. I think any tan I had is totally gone. Oh well, I am sure it will come back when I am laying on the beach on Friday. I can't wait!
