ROBBED!!!

While shooting on location Friday we had our car broken into and about $8000 of stuff stolen! Devastating. We had our car parked about 50 feet from a police officer but the dirty thieves broke our car window grabbed our stuff and split before the lazy cop finished his donut and looked up. Here is a short of list SOME of the stuff that was stolen: both Jon and my original birth certificates and our original SS cards (I had these in my purse because it was our fist day of work so the production company need it for their records), my purse and everything in it including, my drivers license, all of our credit cards, $300 in gift cards, cash, my Louie purse, digital camera, Jon's Oakley’s, my lap top (I am blogging from a friends computer), my IPOD, thousands of dollars of Jon's scuba stuff and the list goes on and on. I am dealing with getting over the material things but our birth certificates, SS cards and my license concerns me because of the risk of identity theft.

I think dad's homeowners insurance will cover the material possessions but we are still working out the details. Bummer....what a bummer. I am currently on a different island than where I live and I have to fly home, but wait how do I fly home without a photo ID? To get a new ID you need your birth certificate which I don't have or your driver’s license which I also don't have. I do have a passport but it has my maiden name on it, but that is on the other island. How do I get on the airplane without photo ID? I am still working on that one. As you see this has caused some logistical issues. (Praise God Jon didn't get his drivers license stolen)

The sad part is being robbed has taken away the spotlight from Jon doing his first stunt on Friday. He did such a great job! I am so proud of him. I am doing my first stunt tomorrow.

Our spirits are up and we are getting over the shock of what happened and now we are dealing with the red tap. It is very strange not having any identification or any money, not even $5. My dad has just been awesome through this whole thing and is taking care of our financial needs for the time being. I have ordered a new computer which should come on Tuesday, so I will be up and blogging again in no time. I will try and get a new digital camera soon so I can share pictures. Thanks for your prayers and Aloha from Hawaii!

That is absolutely insane! Welcome to Hawaii I guess....

I'm really proud of you guys - it's kind of like you're in a movie or something. Regardless of what happens, it'll be a pretty cool story to tell the kids. But given your track record, I have no doubt you'll do an amazing job at this.

Just remember to send me a few autographed photos....

Heather, I am so sorry. Here is something I recently read: God is faithful. His strength is sufficient for any trial. When trials come, they teach us dependence on God. He comforts us so we can comfort others.
Heather, I know it's stressful but know that we love you guys and our prayers are with you. Chris and Tonia
